1 Day Wasini Dhow and Dolphin Excursion

06:30 AM – Pick Up from Hotel
Depart from your hotel in Mombasa or Diani and drive south along the coast towards Shimoni, the gateway to Wasini Island. Enjoy scenic views of villages, coconut palms, and the Indian Ocean en route.

08:30 AM – Arrival at Shimoni & Boarding the Dhow
Arrive at Shimoni jetty, where you’ll be welcomed by your crew. Board a traditional wooden Arab dhow and set sail across the sparkling waters of the Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park.

09:30 AM – Dolphin Spotting Cruise
Sail in search of wild dolphins, often spotted swimming alongside the dhow. The sight of these playful creatures in their natural habitat is unforgettable.

10:30 AM – Snorkeling & Marine Exploration
Stop at the coral-rich Kisite Marine Park, known as the “Home of the Dolphins.” Dive in for guided snorkeling sessions among colorful reefs, tropical fish, and other vibrant marine life. Non-swimmers can enjoy the dhow’s glass-bottom viewing or simply relax on deck.

12:30 PM – Lunch at Wasini Island
Sail to Wasini Island and enjoy a freshly prepared Swahili seafood lunch (with vegetarian options available). The meal is often served with coconut rice, chapati, and local delicacies in a rustic island setting.

02:00 PM – Cultural & Village Walk (Optional)
After lunch, explore Wasini Island on foot with a guided visit through the local fishing village, mangrove boardwalk, or the Shimoni Slave Caves (optional, depending on the package).

03:00 PM – Return Sail to Shimoni
Board your dhow for a relaxed sail back to Shimoni, enjoying the afternoon breeze and final ocean views.

04:00 PM – Drive Back to Mombasa/Diani
Disembark at Shimoni, meet your driver, and begin the return journey.

06:00–06:30 PM – Drop Off at Hotel
Arrive back at your hotel in the early evening after a day filled with dolphins, snorkeling, island culture, and coastal charm.
