2. Nairobi National Museum
Next, your guide will take you to the Nairobi National Museum, just a short drive away on Museum Hill. Established in 1920, the museum is a treasure trove of Kenya’s natural and cultural heritage.
Inside, you’ll explore galleries that showcase Kenya’s human origins, cultural diversity, and natural history. Highlights include the Cradle of Humankind Gallery with world-famous fossils from Lake Turkana, the Hall of Mammals, and exhibits celebrating the traditions of Kenya’s 44 ethnic communities. 3. Bomb Blast Memorial Park (August 7th Memorial Park)
Leaving Museum Hill, your journey continues to Bomb Blast Memorial Park, located along Haile Selassie Avenue in the city center. Also known as the August 7th Memorial Park, this site was established to honor the victims and survivors of the 1998 U.S. Embassy bombing in Nairobi.
The park is a peaceful garden filled with memorial plaques, trees, and benches that invite reflection. Inside the Peace Memorial Museum, visitors can view exhibits recounting the tragic event, the stories of resilience from survivors, and ongoing peace-building efforts.
Although it’s a more somber stop, the memorial park serves as a powerful reminder of Nairobi’s strength and unity. Most visitors spend about 30 to 45 minutes here, walking through the gardens and reading the names engraved on the memorial walls.
4. Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC)
From the memorial, your guide will lead you to one of Nairobi’s most iconic landmarks — the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC), located on Harambee Avenue. Standing at 105 meters tall, this 32-story circular tower has long symbolized Kenya’s status as an economic and diplomatic hub.
Visitors can take a guided tour of the complex, which includes a walk through its architectural and historical highlights.
